Creative Supervisor

The Creative Supervisor is responsible for producing stunning and innovative designs, supervising the creative team and creative processes, and assisting the Marketing Manager with the development and implementation of creative initiatives. The Creative Supervisor will manage the ideation, presentation and execution of company branding and marketing communications campaigns; the profitability and creative quality of company projects, and the operational readiness of the creative team.

This position is located in our Watsonville, California office.

The primary responsibilities include:
• Supervise the Creative Team within the creative division of the Marketing Department ensuring professional development and readiness of the team
• Understand Nordic Naturals strategic goals and brand; analyze the creative team, environment, processes, and technologies to determine areas needing improvement and make recommendations for changes to meet market changes, competitive threats or to support strategic plans
• Direct the creative function so that the environment, culture, team, capabilities, tools, processes, expectations and work style support the strategic goals of Nordic Naturals
• Collaborate and contribute to the creative process as a leader of the Creative Team, and as a member of the Marketing Team
• Facilitate the design of Social Media initiatives, i.e. Facebook, Twitter, etc.
• Deliver strategic communication solutions that help the company attain marketing and communications objectives
• Write and present cohesive and persuasive rationales for campaign approaches
• Lead the unified process of marketing/concept/design (interactive/web/video/motion graphics) and post-production execution
• Work with Web Designer and Advertising Coordinator to implement Search Engine Optimization programs
• Manage the evolution of the company's technology needs, marketing technology, and digital marketing capabilities
• Maintain Design budget, monitor and justify job estimates, and approve invoices
• Conduct trend, design, competitive, and qualitative research, then present findings
• Assure that timely and informative communication takes place between the creative function and the Sales Divisions
• Manage outside resources, including vendors, photographers, video production, freelancers, web and interactive sub-contractors
• Monitor quality control, including proofing, reviewing, measuring and evaluating creative output and project processes
• Create marketing materials such as advertisements, brochures, catalogs, sell sheets, packaging, and displays
• Update Nordic Naturals Brand Book
• Review materials for DSHEA/FDA structure/function claims
• Oversee archiving design and marketing files

The ideal candidate will have the following:

• Strong design portfolio
• Bachelor's degree in graphic design or equivalent work experience
• 5+ years of producing visually stunning designs

• Ability to lead a team of creatives
• Excellence in managing and motivating staff
• Proficient in Macintosh OSX environment
• Proficient with Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator
and Flash
• Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word and PPT
• Experience with web design from a design and/or project management perspective
• Experience with Content Management Systems (CMS) preferred, but not required
• HTML/CSS, PHP and other web experience a plus
• Superior leadership and collaboration skills
• Superior problem solving and decision-making skills
• Superior understanding of advertising and marketing principles
• Demonstrated talent for high-caliber creative concepting and writing
• Ability to judge creative concepts and copy, and clearly communicate creative direction to others
• Excellent presentation skills
• Thorough understanding of art direction
• Excellent communication, planning, time-management and follow-through skills

Sales Support

We currently have a full-time opening for an entry level Sales Support person in our Professional Sales Department. We offer a great work environment with competitive pay and benefits.

The Sales Support position is responsible for daily account maintenance and order processing for incoming calls, in house support for Outside Representatives, and helping to direct calls to Inside Sales Representatives.

The successful candidate will be organized and have strong written and verbal communication skills, be proficient with MS Excel and Word, have knowledge of Omega-3 fatty acids and have knowledge of the Nordic Naturals product line. In addition, the ideal candidate will be able to prioritize, work independently as well as in a team.

International Registration Coordinator

We currently have a full-time opening for an International Registration Coordinator located in our Watsonville, California office. We offer a great work environment with competitive pay and benefits.

The International Registration Coordinator is responsible for facilitation functions related to international product registrations. The essential functions of the position are:

• Work with international distributors/consultants/government officials to prepare necessary documentation required for product registrations

• Work with the California Department of Public Health and Secretary of State Office's to obtain and legalize documents required for registrations; occasionally facilitate the legalization of documents at consulates, embassies and secretary

• Work closely with Nordic Natural's International Sales Team to monitor the progress of orders and prepare export documentation for international shipments

• Generate and maintain Certificates of Analysis for internal and international use

• Facilitate label initiation and/or changes with the Marketing department for all international product labels and keep documentation of all changes

• Coordinate Document Control activities relating to the generation, distribution, and auditing of controlled documents for international distribution

• Prepare monthly label orders for all International products

• Protect and control proprietary materials

• Other projects as needed

We are looking for someone who is positive and has good communication, organizational, problem solving and research skills. The ideal candidate will be proficient with MS Office and have excellent Excel skills. BA/BS in Biology, Chemistry, Pharmacology, Nutrition or equivalent combination of education and experience strongly preferred. Bilingual (written and oral) in Spanish a must; Additional language skills (French) a plus. The successful candidate must be familiar with general office equipment and have basic math skills including a solid understanding of Algebra.

Buyer/Planner

We currently have a full-time opening for a Buyer/Planner located in our Watsonville, California office. We offer a great work environment with competitive pay and benefits.

The primary responsibility for the Buyer/Planner is to coordinate the inventory and supply chain. This position will have responsibility for overseeing co-packers production schedules, managing inventory levels using JIT, material movements within the plant, and forecast and planning quarterly usage. The essential functions of the position are:

• Monitor inventory demand and place orders accordingly·
• Responsible for monitoring and replenishing label inventory levels and purges as necessary
• Enter Bill of Materials and pricing in ERP System.
• Review production schedule on a daily basis to be pro-active to follow up with suppliers to avoid late deliveries.

• Work with order fulfillment center, receiving and quality department daily to address inventory issues and to eliminate delays.
• Review material usage and take action as required to meet customer demand.
• Monitor monthly inventory cycle counts internal and external.
• Responsible to maintain optimum level of inventory and ensure no disruptions in production flow.
• Record production data, including volume produced, consumption of raw materials, and quality control measures.
• Plan and maintain production commitments and timetables.
• May orchestrate international shipments including generation of paperwork and inventory transactions.

We are looking for someone who is positive, innovative, adaptable, detail oriented, persistent, and self motivated. The ideal candidate will take initiative to get things done, manage time well and be able to problem solve. Minimum of 5 years experience purchasing in a contract-manufacturing environment required. Proficiency in MS Excel a must.

Key Account Manager

We currently have a full-time opening for a Key Account Manager, focusing on our Conventional Channel Market. This position may be based from a home office. We offer a great work environment with competitive pay and benefits.

 

You will be responsible for conventional channel broker management, account strategy and execution. You will work closely with our in-house marketing team for collateral production to support this channel.  

 

Regular contact and periodic visits to food, drug and mass key account headquarters across the country will be required for effective continued development of relationships and to maximize sales and profit potential. 
Travel time will be in excess of 50%.


Monitoring and ensuring timely submission of all new item proposals, promotional plans, and advertising with the support of the in-house Sales Coordinator and National Sales Manager will be expected. Strong sales, leadership, and critical thinking skills are required.


We are looking for someone with a positive attitude who is innovative, accountable, organized, enthusiastic, detail oriented and goal oriented.  Additional desired skills include leadership, negotiation, communication (both oral and written), and relationship building. The ideal candidate will have a 4 year degree in business, finance or related field plus 5+ years experience in Key Account Management or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

This position requires the ability to sit and/or stand for long periods, work on a computer, bend, twist, stoop, reach up and down, and lift, on occasion, up to 50 pounds independently.
