Watsonville, CA (September 7, 2011) Nordic Naturals will be hosting an important lecture on omega-3 fish oil and ocular health by Dr. Ann Hoscheit, OD, F.A.A.O., F.A.A.R.M entitled “Eye Health and Wellness: Fish Oil and Beyond” for registered conference attendees. The presentation will be held on Friday, September 23^rd from 2:45–4:45 P.M. in Room 704 at the Venetian Hotel during the International Vision Expo and Conference, September 21–25 in Las Vegas. Continuing education credit is offered.

Participants will have an opportunity to review how ocular conditions are impacted by the nutritional state of the body, and through case studies, learn the basics of prescribing dietary changes and nutritional support for patients with conditions like ocular inflammation (including dry eye syndrome), macular degeneration and glaucoma. The presentation will also cover nutritional depletions caused by common medications that contribute to ocular diseases. Resources for learning more and for establishing a wellness center for primary eye will also be discussed.

A recognized writer, speaker and researcher, Dr. Ann M. Hoscheit is a leader in the field of eye and vision health. Having received numerous awards in the past, Dr. Hoscheit was recognized this year by Vision Monday in the article “40 Women with Vision” as being one of the Most Influential Women in the Optical Industry. Her professional experience also includes serving as Assistant Clinical Professor and Clinic Director at Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry.
